FAQ

TOP QUESTIONS I HEAR FROM PATIENTS

Is blepharoplasty surgery painful?

The surgery itself is not painful, as it is performed under sedation and local anesthesia of the eyelids. During the first few days, it is common to experience discomfort, such as a feeling of tightness in the eyelids, itching, dry eyes, and discomfort secondary to swelling or bruising. This discomfort usually lasts about a week.
They are usually relieved with local cold compresses, ointments, and artificial tears. If pain is present, it is usually mild and can be relieved with mild analgesics.

Do I need any preparation before blepharoplasty?

Proper preparation before blepharoplasty is crucial and should include detailed surgical planning. An evaluation by an expert is essential to rule out any eye diseases or conditions that would contraindicate surgery. Furthermore, it is important to review the patient's current medications and medical history to make any necessary adjustments before the procedure, as well as to select the most appropriate technique for each individual case.
